Winter Storm expected tonight
A winter storm may produce as much as two inches of snow as it passes through the area tonight and Wednesday morning. Leavenworth County Emergency Management Director Chuck Magaha said between a trace and two inches of snow may be possible.
Occupant taken to hospital after house fire
One person was taken to the hospital following a fire over the weekend at a Leavenworth residence, a Fire Department official. Leavenworth Fire Marshal Andy Brooks said he does not believe the person was injured in the fire, but he was taken to the hospital for a precautionary evaluation.

Leavenworth’s Hannah Jackson records 100th win Basehor-Linwood’s powerlifting teams dominated the competition Saturday at Leavenworth High School. The girls recorded 450 points to easily outscore second-place Gardner Edgerton (251).

Fire at church, day care building under investigation
A fire at a Leavenworth building that houses a church and day care center remains under investigation, a Fire Department official said. The fire was reported at about 7 p.m.
