The past few years have been a time when many families all over America have had trouble putting food on the table. When the pandemic began in March 2020 lots of people got laid off, and hence had trouble getting the food that they needed. The pandemic eased in 2022, but in the past two years we have had the worst cycle of inflation since the early 1980s. This inflation has hit particularly hard on food prices. And, with the Federal Reserve Board raising interest rates to stem inflation, the country appears to be sinking into a recession, which will result in more unemployment.
