To the editor: Our local state representative, Pat Proctor, has been bragging on Facebook that he is touring Germany as part of the “Homeland Security Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council.” Now keep in mind, this is not part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This is an ultra-conservative group of state legislators who get together in back rooms to plot and connive to bring their own personal agendas back to their home states to control your lives. They simply cloned the name and call themselves “Homeland Security” to confuse constituents into thinking they are something important. Important isn’t the right word. Dangerous is.
