Wire reports Alfalfa sprouts being recalled a_er salmonella outbreak A Nebraska company is recalling alfalfa sprouts sold in three states after 15 cases of salmonella were linked to the food. SunSprout Enterprises said Thursday that its recall covers 808 pounds of sprouts that it sold to five foodservice companies and grocery stores in Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas in November and December.

Probe: Alzheimer’s drug approval ‘rife with irregularities’

The Food and Drug Administration’s contentious approval of a questionable Alzheimer’s drug took another hit as congressional investigators called the process “rife with irregularities.” The 18-month investigation by two House committees detailed “atypical collaboration” between FDA regulators and a company it’s supposed to oversee - Aduhelm manufacturer Biogen. The probe also cited Biogen documents saying the company intended to “make history” when it set what investigators called an “unjustifi ably high” initial price of $56,000 a year for the drug.

Diane M. Fitzpatrick, 77, Leavenworth, passed away after a joyful life, Monday, December 26, 2022. Diane was raised in Lake Park, Minnesota, of Eugene “Norman” and Margaret Faus. She centered her life around the things that brought her joy. Family, pets, and her love for the gardens that surrounded our home, built a strong foundation of warmth and sincerity that all who were gifted to share, knew and valued. Away from home, she found more joy in her work at Easton Elementary and sharing in the growth of the of the community. She enjoyed the companionship of the ladies in her coffee group. Their shared friendships were immeasurably joyous during her later years. When she was unable to leave home, they came to her and were right by her side. Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband EE “Buck” Fitzpatrick. She is survived by her two sons, Michael and Jesse, their spouses Jamie and Lauren, and grandchildren Lauren, Michael, and Shea. She is also, survived by brothers, Alan and Richard Faus, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel, Thursday, January 5, 2023, 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Burial will be held in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
