Voters in Kansas should listen to Michelle Obama

Here in Kansas we are facing the prospect of some most bitter elections in 2022. A state court has struck down the redistricting plan drawn up by the Legislature for the state’s four U.S. House seats. The judge argued that it was unfair to Democrats like Rep. Sharice Davids of the 3rd U.S. House District. The judge’s decision will be appealed to the state Supreme Court, but whatever the final boundaries of the 3rd District the battle for this seat promises to be most fierce.

‘A different mindset’

Describing the progress she has made in the shot put, Aarion Pickens kept coming back to the same word – “mind-blowing.” After breaking her personal record by nearly 5 feet in the first track and field meet of the spring, the Leavenworth sophomore has not stopped improving, and her mark of 40 feet, 3 inches is first in Class 5A. Longtime shot put coach Gloria Swanagan has known Pickens for years through their attendance at Rock of Refuge Christin Fellowship in Leavenworth.
