During the Leavenworth County Commission meeting Feb. 23, Bob Weber, Leavenworth County appraiser, gave his quarterly report which included releasing statistics on the 2021 county property tax valuations for various categories of property.

Kansas Attorney General asking judge to dismiss redistricting lawsuits

Attorney General Derek Schmidt is asking a Wyandotte County judge to dismiss two lawsuits filed over new Kansas congressional district lines enacted by Republican lawmakers. Schmidt’s request came three days after the Kansas Supreme Court refused to dismiss the lawsuits and another in Douglas County at the Republican attorney general’s request.

FOX News host Tucker Carlson recently made some unfortunate comments about Ms. Ketanji Brown Jackson, President Biden’s nominee to the Supreme Court. Specifically, he said that the Biden administration should release her LSAT scores before the vote on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate.
