Betty Ann East

Betty Ann East, 85, of Leavenworth, KS passed away peacefully on February 17,2022. A devoted Mother, Grandmother, and friend to many she was loved by all. Betty was predeceased by her Husband Thomas B. East, her parents Waldo and Florence Briggs, sister Florence (Bridget) Poe, daughter Deborah Ruby-Hack and two granddaughters Elizabeth and Amanda. Two sons in law also preceded her. She is survived by Brother, Leon (Carolyn) Briggs and daughters Nancy Aldridge and Peggy (Elmer) Colon, 8 Grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

William ”Billy” Newburn

William “Billy” Newburn of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at the age of eighty. After years of declining health due to Parkinson’s, he died peacefully at the University of Kansas Hospital with his beloved wife Jeanne, his daughter Barbara and two of his granddaughters (Chastidy & Crystal) by his side. Billy was born on May 4, 1941, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Floyd & Florence (Stewart) Newburn. Billy was a charismatic and good man. Billy was incredibly loved and will be missed by every heart he touched. Billy was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Newburn is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Newburn; children, Rhonda (Lee) Kliman, Debra Davis, Barbara (Al) Simon, Nancy (Alan) Figgs, Richard Lewis and Wayne (Leslie) Lewis; in addition to, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that remembrances go to the Michael J Fox Foundation. Memorial Visitation services are Friday, February 25, 2022, from 4-8 pm at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, Kansas. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
