County COVID-19 cases in downward trend

Basehor cousins create designs for Holly museum in Lubbock

A Basehor-based graphic design and marketing business is making a big splash at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas. Kinfolk Created, owned by cousins Bryan Lisbona and Toby Kuhn, is providing T-shirts and stickers to the center after having nearly a dozen of their designs approved by the city of Lubbock and Maria Elena Holly, Buddy Holly’s widow.

Area impacted by snow storm

Roads were treacherous Thursday morning as snow continued to fall in the area, according to the Leavenworth County Emergency Management director. Chuck Magaha said about six inches of snow had fallen in the Basehor area as of 9:45 a.m.

Weekend preview: Local wrestlers to fight for state berth

The KSHSSA boys wrestling regionals are Friday and Saturday and athletes from Basehor-Linwood, Lansing, Leavenworth and Pleasant Ridge will compete for a berth in the state tournament. All three Class 5A Leavenworth County schools will wrestle at Blue Valley Southwest in Overland Park.
