Mother of the bride is stung by RSVPs

Dear Amy: My daughter is getting married in two weeks. My brother and his family are not coming to the wedding, citing COVID as their excuse. They are all vaccinated and boosted. My brother is the bride’s godfather. I am very upset, as I attended all his children’s weddings, even though it was very expensive for me to travel there, pay for a hotel, etc. My best friend is also not coming. She has an eight-monthold grandson whom she is going to babysit for while allowing her daughter to attend the wedding. She has another daughter who lives with her, and I question why this daughter cannot babysit so my friend can attend. I also traveled to her daughter’s wedding -- again at a significant expense.

The games we play on an overnight stay with the grands

While enjoying an overnight stay with the grandkids, I couldn’t help but notice technology also came along for some fun at Gigi and Papa’s. As much as I want to complain about it, I’m just as guilty with a cell phone which may as well be hanging around my neck.

Dems fear extinction in rural U.S. due to ‘toxic brand’

KELLY DISTRIBUTES FOOD

Gov. Laura Kelly helped bag and distribute food alongside volunteers of the Church of the Resurrection’s FoodMobile pantry at the Mercy and Truth Medical Mission on Tuesday in Kansas City, Kansas. The governor also toured the clinic and delivered remarks about the importance of eliminating the state’s food tax. This proposal will lower the grocery bill and put money back in the pockets of Kansas families. With this event, the FoodMobile hit a record of helping 57 families. On average, 40 families receive aid through the mobile pantry at every stop. Photy by Cassie Nichols
