The Beta Epsilon chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met in mid-January to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and created fidget aprons to donate to facilities caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. In 1994, Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act which turned the former Martin Luther King Jr. Day into a day that is dedicated to volunteer service in honor of King’s legacy. He graduated in 1952 from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Dow began his career in construction in 1958, and later founded Dow Jacobson Construction Company. In this chosen career, he built many homes in Kansas City, Lansing, Leavenworth, and Basehor, Kansas, including the subdivisions known as Adams Acres, Sherwood Forest, Hickory Ridge, Fawn Valley, Knollwood, and South 3rd Court.
