Defendant sentenced for attempted rape

A Leavenworth man has been sentenced to nearly eight years in prison for attempted rape, according to a prosecution official. Thomas J. Henkle, 43, Leavenworth, was sentenced Wednesday in Leavenworth County District Court to 94 months, or seven years and 10 months, in prison.

Author struggling to find inspiration for new project

Dear Annie: I am a published author and have been struggling to write my next book. I’ve written a handful of adultoriented fictional books. My most recent published book came out almost five years ago. I’ve tried several times to start the next book, but I haven’t been able to get any thoughts together or gather any momentum in the writing process.
