Eric Stonestreet, an Emmy award winning actor and comedian who grew up in the Kansas City area, recently visited Leavenworth and distributed 200 hams to those in need in Leavenworth in honor of his father. His father, Vince, who recently passed away, was the owner of L&V outlet for many years. The Leavenworth Police Department and United Way of Leavenworth County assisted him in distributing the hams. RICHMOND, Va. – A rust-colored 1875 almanac, a cloth envelope and a silver coin were found Wednesday in a time capsule that lay hidden beneath a towering statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee in Virginia for more than 130 years.
