USD 207 earns Star Award recognition

The Behavioral Health Clinic at Munson Army Health Center continues to serve beneficiaries during the holidays with both faceto face and virtual appointments. One way MAHC intends to provide constant and dedicated care to behavioral health patients is through virtual appointments.

Hospitals brace for ‘tough winter’

Kansas has yet to officially record a case of the new omicron variant as the delta coronavirus strain continues to be behind a COVID-19 surge that has filled hospitals. Three of the four states bordering Kansas have confirmed omicron cases and Matt Lara, a spokesperson for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, said it is “very likely the new variant is here and we just haven’t found it yet.” Two cases were suspected of being omicron in recent days but were sequenced and determined to be the delta variant, Lara added.

MINNEAPOLIS – Kim Potter’s use of deadly force against Daunte Wright was not appropriate, a use-of-force expert testified Wednesday at the former suburban Minneapolis police officer’s manslaughter trial, undercutting a defense argument that she would have been justified in shooting Wright even if she didn’t mean to.

Delivering food during hard times is about community

Dear Annie: I am a baby boomer and appreciate the 20th-century tradition of “rising to the occasion” and taking in meals if a family member is ill or if there has been a death in the family. It is a kind and thoughtful gesture. I am in a club, and one member’s husband was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. At that time, our president assigned each member a time to take a meal to them, staggered by a few days. Our president requested that we share the menu with other club members so there wouldn’t be duplicated meals. The member’s husband recently died, and our president has again requested that we take food to the house. And we are stepping up to the plate and doing so.
