Robert Dole exhibited the sort of traits and characteristics that are, unfortunately, all too rare among America’s contemporary political elites. Intersection project planned for next year

Last week, Leavenworth County officials hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of an improved section of Eisenhower Road. And Lansing officials are planning a project for next year that will impact another section of Eisenhower Road.

Lansing to use funds for internet services

The city of Lansing will use American Rescue Plan funds to provide incentives for companies providing high speed internet to as many as 1,500 Lansing residents, the council recently decided. Administrator Tim Vandall said feedback from many residents and the increase of residents working from home convinced city officials this would be an appropriate use of the funds.

Sister Mark Friday, SCL

LEAVENWORTH - Sister Mark Friday, 88, a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth (SCL) for 69 years, died on Nov. 27, 2021, in Ross Hall at the SCL Mother House in Leavenworth, Kan. Sister entered the religious community on Aug. 21, 1952, and served as a long-time educator and school administrator. Kansas to get $27 million in settlement

Kansas will recoup $27 million as part of a deal with insurance giant Centene to settle allegations that middlemen who manage prescription drug benefits for the state’s Medicaid program overcharged, Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced Monday.

More than 500 people attended Linwood’s “Mayberry Christmas” event last weekend which included a Christmas parade, concert and, of course, a visit from Santa. The event was organized by Linwood Baptist Church as a gift to the community.
