Barbara Ann Wiley

Barbara Ann Wiley, 85, of Leavenworth, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. Luke’s South hospital surrounded by family. She was born on July 20, 1936 to Earl Robert and Marguerite V. (Gilman) Laudenslager at Ft. Snelling, MN.

She met the love of her life, Leroy T. Wiley and on June 28, 1958 they were married in Leavenworth, KS at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. From this union, 7 children were born. Melissa, Aida, Brian, Barbara, Kevin, Steven and Jason.

Barbara was a graduate of Leavenworth High School. She held several positions including working for an accountant, bank teller and as a Quality Inspector at Hallmark Cards for 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing and hat making.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart-St. Casimir Parish, Rock of Ages Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles #55, Daughters of Isabella (15 years as secretary, vice-president or president), Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary, Leavenworth Senior Center as treasurer, Kitchen Band, 4-H leader, NAMI and the Square Dance Hazel Nut Cracker Club.

She is survived by her children, Melissa (Mike) Pierce, Brian (Peggy) Wiley, Barbara Wiley, Kevin Wiley, Steven Wiley, and Jason (Susie) Wiley. Niece, Kimberly (Bruce) Noble.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy, daughter, Aida Dozier, and nephew, Scott Wingender.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Belden Larkin Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A graveside service at 11:00 am will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Children’s Mercy Hospital, St. Labre Indian School in Montana or Rock of Ages Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Belden Larkin Funeral Home.
