Donald Dwain Dodd, son of Theodore and Anna Finneran Dodd, was born in Kansas on March 2, 1934.He attended Sacred Heart and Bell grade schools in Leavenworth County.After earning a welding degree, Dodd worked at the Missouri Valley Shipyard in Leavenworth before entering the U.S. Navy at 19.
