ARBOR DAY

Family members of John Hendrickson fill in dirt around a newly planted tree Friday at David Brewer Park. The tree was planted in memory of Hendrickson, who died last year. He served as Leavenworth’s parks superintendent in the 1990s and is credited with starting the city’s Legacy Tree Program. The planting of the tree was part of the city’s annual Arbor Day celebration. Photos by John Richmeier
