Healthy Eating for a Healthy Weight

An eating plan that helps manage your weight includes a variety of healthy foods. Add an array of colors to your plate and think of it as eating the rainbow. Dark, leafy greens, oranges, and tomatoes—even fresh herbs— are loaded with vitamins, fiber, and minerals. Adding frozen peppers, broccoli, or onions to stews and omelets gives them a quick and convenient boost of color and nutrients.

NUTRITION PROGRAM:

The Nutrition Department’s goal is to provide a hot, balanced and nutritious meal to older adults, age 60 and older, living in Leavenworth County. The Meals on Wheels program is dedicated to meeting nutritional needs, combating social isolation and ensuring safety.

PET SERVICES

PETS AND LOVING SENIORS (PALS): PALS is a program designed for seniors, age 50 and older, to help ease the burden of buying food for their pets. Through the generous donations of pet food and funds from community members and businesses, we are able to assist in providing meals and necessary supplies to pets.
