KC artist explores identity and family history in exhibition

The University of Saint Mary will kick off its 2023 Goppert Gallery season with “Liminal Being,” an exhibition from Kansas City-based artist Carlos Ortiz-Gallo. The exhibition focuses on the construction of life-size members of his family into new hybrid beings in different liminal spaces and moments, which are based on family documents and photographs, interviews and conversations.

IN-HOME SUPPORT PROGRAM:

ERRAND & SHOPPING SUPPORT: This program supports residents who need assistance with their shopping and errand needs. These programs are feebased services for residents age 60 and older. Shopping and errand trips may be scheduled every other week. For more information, call 913-684-0777.

HUMAN SERVICES & ASSISTANCE:

The mission of the Human Services and Assistance team is to provide support to seniors, age 60 and older and residing in Leavenworth County, to ensure their safety and promote their emotional well-being. This team is qualified to address a single issue or a complex situation that requires the coordination of services, including enlisting the support of our Social Services Representative to assist seniors, who are at risk of institutionalization, to remain living independently for as long as possible.

SENIOR EXPRESS TRANSPORTATION:

We are available to assist with your transportation needs for seniors age 50 and over, as well as persons of any age with disabilities in our accessible fleet. Services include shopping and business (bank/post office) trips once per week, and hairdresser appointments as well as transportation to medical trips and for work. As always, reservations are required, and taken on a first call, first serve basis, for all trip purposes. A fee is required per trip per person. Trip costs are included below.
