‘Special eye’ doesn’t stop Basehor first-grader

From the moment Tristan Molsen was born on Sept. 2, 2015, his parents knew something wasn’t quite right. While he was being cleaned up in the delivery room, Tristan’s dad noticed a bubble in his son’s eye. Initially, he saw a small clear bubble that was floating on the colored part of his newborn baby’s right eye. Although reassured by the medical staff that it was perfectly normal for a newborn, Tristan’s mom, Kiersten, didn’t feel confident with those dismissive, off-hand comments.
