Lansing schools partner with the community to host Touch-a-Truck event

Lansing school district’s Early Childhood and Parents as Teachers recently partnered with community members to host the second annual Touch-a-Truck event for preschoolers of USD 469. Children in attendance were able to explore community vehicles such as police, fire, military, construction equipment and buses and play with sensory bins, blow bubbles and socialize.

Lansing City Council ponders next steps on fire protection

Lansing City Council ponders next steps on fire protection Now that the Supreme Court has determined an interlocal agreement that resulted in two fire districts and the city of Lansing forming Fire District 1 can be terminated, Lansing City Council members are carefully determining what steps they want to take. The Supreme Court ruling, which indicated the agreement was enforceable, overturned a district court and an appeals court ruling.
