Basehor cyclists compete in annual Bike MS

Twelve members of Basehor Velo, a group of bicycling enthusiasts in southern Leavenworth County, participated in the recent Bike MS. They joined more than 850 riders from the Kansas City metro area and helped raise more than $670,000 to help change the world for people who are suffering with multiple sclerosis. MS is unpredictable and is often a disabling disease of the central nervous system. There is currently no cure for the disease.

Wire reports Carbon monoxide at Kansas City school sends 8 to hospital Six students and two adults were taken to a hospital for evaluation after a carbon monoxide leak was detected Wednesday at a Kansas City elementary school, officials said. The eight people taken to hospitals from Longfellow Elementary School suffered nausea and dizziness but none suffered life-threatening issues, Assistant Fire Chief Jimmy Walker said.
