The event recognized the launch of a partnership between Armed Forces Bank and the Army’s Partnership for Your Success Program. Robbins is the commander of an Army recruiting company. Vickery is the executive vice president and director of military consumer lending for Armed Forces Bank, which has its headquarters at Fort Leavenworth. Church is a time we set aside especially for God

You may not be surprised to hear me say this, but I think people should go to church – and not just once a month, or once or twice a quarter, but in a steady, weekly way. I don’t say this because I think God demands us to go to church or God won’t love us. Though it is a dangerous statement for a preacher to make, I believe and trust God loves us whether or not we go to church. I don’t think we should go to church or else God will send us to hell. God loves us and longs for us to have abundant life, in this life and the life to come.

Wire reports Former Kansas officer charged in serial sex assaults case A former police officer was charged Thursday in a series of sexual crimes that occurred between 2012 and 2018 while he worked for the Hutchinson, Kansas, police department, authorities said. Todd Allen, 51, who was a Hutchinson police officer for about 20 years, was charged with 24 counts, including 17 felonies involving multiple charges including rape, kidnapping and aggravated indecent liberties with a child, The Hutchinson News reported.

Nursery hosts annual Splash Bash

Basehor’s Oak Creek Nursery celebrated its fifth annual Splash Bash with a fun event recently to commemorate the end of summer and to help kids and their parents get excited about heading back to school. Food trucks, a bounce house, a water slide and a balloon artist helped create the festive environment.
