In the lead up to its May 3 commencement ceremony, the University of Saint Mary recognized the class of 2025 during a Convocation Honors and Hooding Ceremony in Annunciation Chapel.Saint Mary is one of the few universities in the U.S. continuing the time-honored tradition of hooding its undergraduates.

Gov. Laura Kelly said three-dozen confirmed cases of measles in southwest Kansas necessitated a plea Tuesday for children and adults to get vaccinated and for people with symptoms to avoid spreading the virus by staying away from public places.The Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced March 13 the first confirmed case of measles in the state since 2008.

Members of Beta Epsilon chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa got together earlier this year to put together backpacks for children entering foster car. Twenty-four backpacks were put together with bears, blankets, outfits, T-shirts, socks, toiletries, school supplies and books.
