A man was taken to the hospital following a fire at a Leavenworth residence, a Fire Department official said. The fire was reported at 12:50 p.m.

A woman was taken to the hospital following a crash in southern Leavenworth County, according to an official with the Sheriff’s Office. The crash was reported at 12:52 p.m.
Commission seeks nominations for judge posts for Kansas Supreme Court
The 1st Judicial District Nominating Commission is seeking nominees for two district judge posts, according to a news release from the state’s judicial branch. The 1st Judicial District is composed of Leavenworth and Atchison counties.

Kansas man arrested after 2 fatal shootings, police chase A 51-year-old Kansas man was arrested Sunday morning in connection with two fatal overnight shootings in Lawrence after fleeing police and firing on officers during the chase. Lawrence Police spokeswoman Laura McCabe said in a news release the two shootings were reported early Sunday morning just a few blocks apart in the city that is home to the University of Kansas.
