Ella Rose Barry, a recent graduate of Leavenworth High School, was awarded a $2,500 PEO Star Scholarship. Her sponsors are the members of Chapter EN, Leavenworth. Ella will attend the University of Virginia in the fall and plans on majoring in communications. The PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization) Star Scholarship is awarded to a senior exhibiting excellence in leadership, academics, extra-curricular activities, community service and potential for future success. PREP TIME 2 HOUR 25 MINS 6 SERVINGS INGREDIENTS • 1/4 cup lemon juice • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil • 4 cloves garlic, minced • 1 teaspoon salt • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano • 1/4 teaspoon pepper • 6 (4 ounce) boneless pork loin chops INSTRUCTIONS • In a large resealable bag, combine lemon juice, oil, garlic, salt, oregano, and pepper. Woman killed when plane crashes in Illinois pool is ID’d An aircraft passenger who died last weekend when a small plane crashed into a swimming pool in southern Illinois has been identified as a 56-year-old woman from the Peoria area. Centralia police said Cheryl Monserat-LaGreca of Lacon, Illinois, died on impact when the 1948 Beechcraft A35 aircraft crashed Saturday less than a mile from the Centralia Municipal Airport.
