The Basehor-Linwood Board of Education recently approved the appointment of Dave Hickerson to serve as the interim principal at Basehor-Linwood High School. Hickerson will take over after the resignation of previous BLHS Principal Jarred Furman.

The mission of the Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope is to provide a safe place of belonging for people in Leavenworth County. The program helps unhoused people and those in need of meals or assistance with a variety of steps to becoming self-sustaining. The organization is located at 311 Kiowa St. in Leavenworth.

The Leavenworth County Attorney’s Office met a delegation from Mongolia as part of the Open World Program 2022. They are here sponsored by the Lansing Kiwanis. They discussed the criminal justice system. The Open World Leadership Center is a program of the Congressional Office of International Leadership, an independent agency of the U.S. Congress. Delegates include people with law-related backgrounds with a facilitator who is an employee at the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia.
