The Leavenworth County Fair will begin Tuesday in Tonganoxie and wrap up July 30. They discussed the criminal justice system. The Open World Leadership Center is a program of the Congressional Office of International Leadership, an independent agency of the U.S. Congress. Delegates include people with law-related backgrounds with a facilitator who is an employee at the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia. When they met this week, Leavenworth County commissioners approved property tax abatement for buildings that were destroyed in a 2019 tornado. County Appraiser Bob Weber said the property tax abatement was being granted Wednesday under a change in state law that was approved earlier this year by Kansas legislators.
