Let your sails be filled, pulled and pushed toward faith

I was ordained on July 31, 2010. Not only was it the beginning of a new adventure, it was also the anniversary of my retirement from the United States Navy 11 years earlier. I mention this because at that ordination, Vitor Westhelle preached a sermon that has caused me to reflect upon what it takes to “long” for something. He exhorted me to remember everything in between seminary and the promise from God given to me at my baptism. This meant that I must look back and see the course of my life and the longing being forged in my heart and mind, that is faith.

MONGOLIAN DELEGATION VISIT

The Leavenworth County Attorney’s Office met a delegation from Mongolia as part of the Open World Program 2022. They are here sponsored by the Lansing Kiwanis. They discussed the criminal justice system. The Open World Leadership Center is a program of the Congressional Office of International Leadership, an independent agency of the U.S. Congress. Delegates include people with law-related backgrounds with a facilitator who is an employee at the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia. Their mission is to introduce rising leaders of emerging countries to the American democratic governing systems. Todd Thompson
