When they met this week, Leavenworth County commissioners discussed passing a local regulation to require natural gas companies to rebury high pressure lines that become exposed. The measure was suggested Wednesday by Commissioner Jeff Culbertson.

Multiple fire departments responded after a vacant house just outside the Leavenworth city limits became engulfed in flames, a fire department official said. No injuries were reported.
