Woman pleads to criminal computer charge
A Lansing woman has pleaded guilty to using a self-checkout computer for a fraudulent purchase, according to a news release from the County Attorney's Office. Brandy Jo Hunt, 38, entered the plea Wednesday in Leavenworth County District Court.

Lansing City Council approves rezoning of land
After comments from several county residents who submitted a protest petition, Lansing City Council members unanimously approved rezoning of about 146 acres across from Kansas Highway 5 and McIntyre Road. Council member Jesse Garvey joined the meeting through Zoom to make the vote 8-0.Prior to the vote, Mayor Tony McNeill noted that the supermajority required by the valid protest petition would need at least six council member votes, and the mayor would not be allowed to vote.
