When they met this week, members of the Leavenworth Board of Education approved changes to a policy that establishes the process for public comments during meetings. Before the vote Monday, board member John Goodman expressed concern that the updated policy does not provide people much time to sign up to speak once an agenda for a meeting has been released.

Leavenworth County has been awarded a $525,000 grant to create a secure parking area for vehicles used for a Council on Aging transportation program. The project is one of 48 to be awarded funding last week through the state’s Access, Innovation and Collaboration Public Transit Program.
