USM receives $1.1 million grant to recruit, train STEM teachers

The University of Saint Mary is working to address the shortage of STEM teachers with the support of a $1.1 million continuing grant from the National Science Foundation. The Becoming an Exemplary STEM Teacher (BEST) program aims to prepare high-quality math, chemistry and biology educators who will teach in highneed local education agencies (LEAs).

Kansas State Fair could soon be home to drinkers who roam People attending the Kansas State Fair this fall will be able to stroll the grounds with a beer, a glass of wine or even a cocktail if some Kansas legislators get their way. House and Senate negotiators are set to draft the final version of legislation expanding the sale of alcohol on the fairgrounds in Hutchinson.
