RESIDENTS RECEIVE SAR MEDAL

The Henry Leavenworth chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented Sharlet Untereiner, Regina Buttron, Kathy Stafford, Rex Loewen, Tommy Herken and Bryan Herken with the SAR Bronze Good Citizenship Medal. Lawmakers eye boll weevil risk

Kansas cotton producers are proposing that lawmakers create a prevention program for boll weevils, an insect that could decimate a crop of growing importance to the state’s agricultural economy. Boll weevils are a beetle that feeds on cotton buds and flowers.
