BELL RINGERS

The Salvation Army had 42 bell ringers at its recent Red Kettle campaign. Leavenworth Rotarian Caroline Webster was the chair for the service project. Connecting to the past

The Beta Epsilon chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa met in mid-January to participate in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and created fidget aprons to donate to facilities caring for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. In 1994, Congress passed the King Holiday and Service Act which turned the former Martin Luther King Jr. Day into a day that is dedicated to volunteer service in honor of King’s legacy. ADK members used that designated day to make a difference in the lives of people they will never meet.

Council discusses RV restrictions

Lansing City Council members are expected to approve stricter regulations for storing recreational vehicles at a future meeting. Council member Marcus Majure said Thursday he’d brought the issue up several times because residents who live in Ward 2, which he represents, have complained about it numerous times.
