No college needed

To assist with substitute teacher shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kansas State Board of Education has authorized an emergency declaration that waives college requirements for a temporary license for substitutes.

ADOPT A PET

Denver is a 3-year-old terrier mix. He has the body of a bassett, coloring of a cattle dog and the muscles of a body builder. He arrived at Leavenworth Animal Control through no fault of his own. Denver is very friendly and knows the sit command. Denver is neutered and vaccinated. He would do best as an indoor dog with a fenced in yard. Leavenworth Animal Control needs help in getting some dogs adopted into loving forever homes. The shelter is located at 2019 S. 3rd St., behind Price Chopper. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays. CAROL TURNER
