Basehor’s Holy-Field Winery is known not only for its award-winning wine, but also the kind spirits of its owners, Les Meyer and his daughter, Michelle Meyer. The winery hosts regular fundraisers for pet organizations, but each December, it holds a fundraiser for the KU Cancer Center in memory of Michelle’s mom and the original tasting room hostess, Shirley Meyer.
TOPEKA – A Kansas prosecutor who will decide whether to charge employees of a juvenile center over a Black teen’s death said Wednesday that an autopsy’s finding that the death was a homicide doesn’t necessarily mean the employees committed any crimes.
