New York City OKs safe sites for drug use
NEW YORK – The first officially authorized safe havens for people to use heroin and other narcotics have been cleared to open in New York City in hopes of curbing overdoses, the mayor and health commissioner said Tuesday.
SCOUTS VISIT CAPITOL
Members of Leavenworth Scouts BSA Troop 167 recently visited the Kansas State Capitol to learn how state government works. Sen. Jeff Pittman led the group on a tour of the two legislative chambers and had the Scouts participate in a roleplaying exercise to see how laws are formulated, debated, amended and ultimately voted on in the state Legislature.
