Concert celebrates female artists

VIVO LIVE Eatery and Venue had a full house Saturday night as it hosted the Femme Fatale VI concert, billed as a music event that “celebrates female artists and businesses.” The event also held a raffle benefit for MOCSA.VIVO owner Daniel Bogaard said the event celebrates women in rock while partnering with eight female business owners as vendors. VIVO is located at 206 Choctaw St.

Petition calls for lower speed limit in Basehor

The city of Basehor is working with the Kansas Department of Transportation to help make traffic within the city limits safer. A petition is collecting signatures to lower the speed limit on US 24/US 40 on State Avenue between 142nd Street and 171st Street from 65 to 50 miles per hour.In June 2024, KDOT completed a speed study for that section of road that concluded that school-aged drivers were disproportionately involved in vehicle accidents at the intersection of 155th Street and State Avenue.
