Clock may be expiring on shift in time change

Unintended consequences of a proposed Kansas law ending observance of daylight saving time appeared likely to undermine an effort in the Legislature to permanently place the state on standard time starting in November.Under Senate Bill 1, if approved by the House and Senate and signed into law by Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly, the state would cling to standard time year-round starting 2 a.m.

LCPA announces sale of two lots in Urban Hess Business Center

The Leavenworth County Port Authority recently sold two lots in the Urban Hess Business Center in Tonganoxie to Croucher and Associates for Wind Electrical Construction Supply. The company plans to build a 25,000 square foot storage and distribution facility to supply large cable reels to companies like Black and Veatch and Kiewit Corporation, both of which do business nationally and have a large presence in the Kansas City area, according to a news release from the Leavenworth County Development Corporation.
