Basehor woman decorates with vast collection of Christmas decor
Basehor resident Joyce Nickell’s obsession with all things related to Christmas began when she and her husband, Charlie, got married in 1960. For their first Christmas together, Charlie bought his new bride a white Christmas tree with shiny red balls that said “Merry Christmas.” All these many years later, Joyce still has six of those ornaments and they are on a tree in their bedroom so she can see them each day.While Charlie has passed away, Joyce continues her tradition of decorating for Christmas for her children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren.
