The holiday spirits will be at the Performing Arts Center this weekend visiting Scrooge in the upcoming production of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The Performing Arts Center is located at 500 Delaware St.The classic story is about a grouchy miser whose disdain for Christmas sparks haunting visits from ghosts who show him the deadly consequences if he doesn’t change his ways.The production is a musical youth show that will run one weekend only with evening shows on Friday and Saturday and a matinee on Sunday. Melissa Terrien directs the cast of 31 children and Amy Bell is musical director.
Lansing Mayor Tony McNeill and councilman Kerry Brungardt were honored recently for their 15 years of service to the city.Both were elected in 2009 as council members. McNeill ran for mayor in November 2020 and was reelected to a second four-year term in 2024.Prior to serving on the council, McNeill served on the Lansing Board of Zoning Appeals, was a volunteer coach, a member of the Solid Waste Advisory Group and also was a member of the Joint Fire Board.When he was elected, Brungardt was a Lansing Middle School principal and a member of numerous educational organizations.

The University of Saint Mary will celebrate fall graduates of the 2024-2025 academic year during a commencement ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in McGilley Field House.The event will honor over 100 university graduates who finished their degrees in December, including 41 Doctor of Physical Therapy candidates, and graduates who will earn either an Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration, Doctor of Education or Doctor of Occupational Therapy.The ceremony will feature performances by the University/Community Band and Concert Chorale.Tickets are not required for entrance into McGilley Field House.
