Santa makes appearance at annual Christmas tree ceremony

The new Basehor City Hall served as a holiday backdrop as the new facility had its first Christmas tree lighting ceremony last weekend. The temperate night brought out hundreds of families, many with children anxiously awaiting Santa’s arrival.Before the ceremonies kicked off, several local organizations hosted booths offering free holiday tattoos for kids, hot chocolate, photo ops and cookies.

Basehor museum hosts annual Festival of Trees

The Basehor Historical Museum Society is ready to welcome the Christmas season as it prepares for one of its major fundraising events of the year, the Festival of Trees. Several local Basehor businesses have donated decorated Christmas trees ranging in size from 4 feet to 9 feet as well as decorated wreaths and other Christmas décor items to be auctioned with the proceeds going to the museum.Images of the items up for auction can be found on the museum’s Facebook page, where bids can be placed.
