Area wrestlers set sights on state berth

A pair of Leavenworth County boys’ wrestling teams will host KSHSAA East Regional boys’ wrestling tourneys this weekend, with both Tonganoxie High School (Class 4A) and Basehor-Linwood High School (5A) looking to capitalize on some good home cooking. All five county high schools will be participating in the regional state qualifying rounds.When the first matches begin in this weekend’s 4A East Regional, the Chieftains will have entrants in all 14 weight classes.

Selected Royals games to be broadcast for free

The Kansas City Royals announced a partnership with Gray Media to provide new, expanded and free access for fans by simulcasting 10 regular season broadcasts with FanDuel Sports Network, the Royals rightsholder partner. The games will be shown on KCTV5 (CBS), KSMO (MyNetwork) or both on Sundays throughout the season, with selected games announced at a later date.The new partnership will increase reach and access of the selected games, providing a new way for nearly seven million households to watch the Royals.
