Willie Mae “Nancy” Smith, born September 7, 1946, to O’Dell Lance and Monie Rider Lance passed away August 30, 2022. She met and married an Army man named Eugene Smith in 1962. His appointment with the Army had them traveling the world. They had three daughters Debra Warden, Marsha Criss and Jannette Smith, and an adopted work daughter, Debbie Simms. She has three grandchildren - Jeffrey Ronnebaum, Kari Valentine and Jaime West, 10 greatgrandchildren, four sisters - Lola Ferguson, Edna White, Lily Nevens, Polly Davis McNeely and five brothers - Coy, Talmadge, Robert, Jesse and Paul Lance and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Nancy worked at the commissary on Fort Leavenworth for 20 years and she really loved her job. But her favorite hobby was going to the casino with her friends Joanne, Ulu & Debbie. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband and seven of her siblings. Surviving siblings brother Paul Lance and sister Lily Nevens. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
