Ret. U.S. Army SGM James “Jim” David Rodgers Sr., 75, of Platte City, Mo., formerly of Leavenworth, passed away peacefully at his home in Platte City, Mo. on July 7, 2022, with family by his side. He was born July 13, 1946 in Heber Springs, Ark., to James Corbet and Roberta (McGowen) Rodgers. Jim lived in Heber Springs until the age of twelve when he moved to San Diego, Calif., with his parents.
James A. Cope, 70, of Leavenworth passed away suddenly from Covid complications, Wednesday, July 6, 2022. He will be greatly missed by the many friends and family he cherished. Jim was born in Hartford, Conn., June 17, 1952, to Imelda and George Cope.
Clarence “CJ” Kroll, 76, of Easton, Kan., passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, after a lengthy battle with COPD. CJ was born in Leavenworth, Kan., to Clarence M. and Frances (Holtgraver) Kroll on July 21, 1945.

Frank Paul Torres, 78, born January 25, 1944, in Elkton, Mich., went to be with the Lord on June 20, 2022. Preceded in his death were his parents, Peter and wife Inez (Robles); siblings, Louis (Debra) of Tennessee, John (Sandra), and William (Taryn) of Lapeer, Michigan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon, sons, Frank Geoffrey of Weston, Mo., Ross Coker (Nancy) of Olathe, Kan. and daughter Kelly of Oregon; grandson Jared and granddaughters, Enya, Karla and Leah, along with his siblings Peter (Joan Ames); Inez (Marcel) Davis of Illinois, Mary Gaffney of Lapeer, Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Patricia (Tricia) Ann Gates, 73, of Leavenworth went to be with the lord on July 4, 2022, with her family by her side. A Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Davis Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date.
Alpha Omega (Anderson) Thomas transitioned to rest on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the comfort of her home with family. She was 93 years old. Visitation will be held at the Pentecostal Church of Apostolic Faith at 1701 5th Avenue, Leavenworth, KS 66048 on Thursday July 7, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. Homegoing Celebration will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the church. Our beautiful Eric Lee Chappell tragically left us on June 19, 2022.
