Ruth A. Bickley, 79, of Lenexa, Kan., passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022. She was born September 17, 1942, in Leavenworth, Kan. to Harold and Dorothy (Brown) Nye. She is survived by her daughter Cathy and her husband Tim Moyer, two brothers Harold and his wife Carol Nye, Herbert and his wife Patty Nye, three grandchildren Ashley and her husband Atirek Ratani, Sarah and her husband Connor Sweeney, Nicholas Moyer, five great-grandchildren Avinash, Akshay, Wilder, Nelle, Townes and many extended family and friends.
William (Bill) Abbott passed away in his home with his stepson, Tim Rush, who was taking care of him on May 27, 2022. He was born on June 13, 1941 to Don and Marie Abbott.
Loren Arthur Crown, M.D., physician and teacher, died on May 29, 2022 at his home in Covington, Tenn. Born in Kansas City, Kan. on April 5, 1945, he attended Basehor Elementary School, Welborn Grade School and Washington High School in Kansas City where he was Junior Class President, Sportsman of the Year and a four year letterman. Twice Kansas State high school champion in the 880 run he also anchored a medley relay team at the KU Relays which set a national best time; his school record still stands from 1963. Awarded an athletic scholarship he attended the University of Kansas where he pledged Beta Theta Pi. In April of 1968 he married Carol Jane Uhlig and together they had three children (Amanda Jane Crown Jordan, Melissa Elizabeth Crown Morris and Bridget Kristina Crown Mirza). That same year he entered medical training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. In 1972 he interned at the University of Miami and began residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago the following year. Moving to Memphis in 1975 and Board Certified in Family, Emergency, and Sports Medicine he practiced emergency medicine at St. Francis (where he set up the first Chest Pain Center in West Tennessee and a Level II Trauma Center) and St. Joseph Hospitals and served as Medical Director of the ED at both. Divorced in 1986, he then married Elaine Kathleen Ellis in 1989 (stepsons Chris Williams and Brad Sukut).

Richard D. Wisneski, 80, of Leavenworth, Kan., died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at KU Hospital.
Richard D. Wisneski, 80, of Leavenworth, Kan, died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at KU Hospital. Richard was born on August 12, 1941, in Norwich, Conn., the youngest son of Blanche (Poreda) and Joseph Wisneski. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy. Richard married Kathleen Schlink on September 3, 1966, who survives of the home. Richard is survived by his brothers Leonard Wisneski and Joseph (Evelyn) Wisneski, children Michele (Ron) Frankl, Jeanne (Travis) Gray, Stephen Wisneski and Jessica Wisneski, and grandchildren Taylor and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Barbara Keech.
Sister Rita Smith, Sister Rita Smith, 81, a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth (SCL) for 63 years, died on May 15, 2022, at Ross Hall in Leavenworth, Kan. Sister entered the religious community on Aug. 24, 1958, and was a long-time educator and administrator.
