Rosalea Edmonds Mills-Heuvel

Rosalea Edmonds Mills-Heuvel, 88, of Tampa, Fla., passed away on January 15, 2023, at Inspired Living, Tampa. Rosalea was born on July 16, 1934, in Leavenworth, Kan. She was the daughter of Matthew J. and Lillian Pearl (Stuckey) Edmonds. She graduated from Lansing High School in 1952. She continued on for an additional year of higher education at Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kan. On August 9, 1953, Rosalea married Lambert Duane Mills. Together in Leavenworth County they raised five children: Cynthia (Mick) Blake of Lake Linden, Mich., Toni Milleret of Pinehurst, N.C., Julia (Pete) Schrock of Summit, N.J., Alan Mills of Tampa, and Tricia (Vito, Jr.) Brancatella of Mendham, N.J. Rosalea loved her family and enjoyed watching her 13 grandchildren develop their unique personalities: Erik Herzog, Alan Kroll, Whitney Crabtree, Cindy Leigh Crabtree, Abigail Milleret, Kyle Milleret (Gosia), Jessica Schrock, Allison Mills, Victoria Mills, Vito Brancatella III (Deirdre), Nicholas Brancatella, Jenna Brancatella, and Ava Brancatella. Rosalea was also blessed to have four great-grandchildren: Rush Herzog, Cruz Herzog, Dawson Virtenen, and Oliwia

Leona Ann Budke, 86, of Leavenworth died Saturday, January 14, 2023, at home. Visitation beginning with praying of the rosary will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with Fr. Glenn Snow, O. Carm., as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Lenny Eugene Oatney

Lenny Eugene Oatney, 63, of Easton, Kan. passed away on December 30, 2022, at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. He was born on April 28, 1959, in Leavenworth, Kan. He is the son of Dick L. and Alice D. (Reavis) Oatney. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1978. He worked many different jobs throughout the years including Select Products and the LV. Water Department. He also worked for various heavy construction companies and recently retired from Frontier Heritage at Fort Leavenworth. He was a member of Union 101 Heavy Equipment Operators and Easton Lions Club. He enjoyed raising cattle, fishing, hunting, family reunions, and helping his friends. He never met a stranger with whom he couldn’t strike up a conversation, but most of all loved (being with and) raising his family. On October 16, 1999, Lenny married his wife, Rita (Wagner) Oatney. Together with his first wife Deborah (Ellingwood) and her husband, Curt Williams, they raised six children: Jeffrey (Kate) Oatney of Basehor, Jamie (Cameron) Richardson of Colorado Springs, Colo., Whitney (Jamie) Seifert of Leavenworth, Matthew Ransom (Jenny Delzeit) of Manhattan, Luke Oatney of Ft. Benning, Ga., and Holly Oatney of Easton. This was no small feat and couldn’t have been done without the help of many family and friends. He is most proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren: Kyle, Kaden, Jasper, and Sawyer Richardson, Myra, Bryce, and Ella Seifert, and Madalyn and Mason Oatney. Lenny is survived by his brother Dick (Patty) Oatney and sister Janet (Lee) Treft, both of Leavenworth, another brother Chris (Sandi) Oatney of Copperas Cove, Texas, sister-in-law Donna Oatney of Kansas City, Mo., many nieces, nephews, and greatnieces and -nephews.
