Those who can’t control themselves online should log off and go play outside

Once in a while, to my dismay, Facebook will tell me that I have a memory to review of something I posted in 2011. To be encouraged, at random times, to read the thoughts of your 11-year-old self is not a punishment anyone deserves. Sure, many people throughout history have kept embarrassing thoughts in diaries, but my generation is unique in that we are reminded of our past mistakes in real time, and almost anyone can access those missteps.

Voters in Kansas should listen to Michelle Obama

Here in Kansas we are facing the prospect of some most bitter elections in 2022. A state court has struck down the redistricting plan drawn up by the Legislature for the state’s four U.S. House seats. The judge argued that it was unfair to Democrats like Rep. Sharice Davids of the 3rd U.S. House District. The judge’s decision will be appealed to the state Supreme Court, but whatever the final boundaries of the 3rd District the battle for this seat promises to be most fierce.
