A look back on businesses in Leavenworth

When my son from Maryland visits, he usually stays in Lansing where his younger brother lives. On a recent visit, however, he elected to use one of Leavenworth’s newer hotels, the Hampton Inn. That got me wondering about this premier First City site. What had occupied the south side of Cherokee Street between 4th and 5th streets in earlier times?

The goodness of Bob Dole
