This is my first update on hot topics we are working on in this 2025 session of the Kansas Senate.I want to start by highlighting my committee assignments and we have some good ones. After discussions with the Senate president, I am on the following committees: Taxation, Transportation, Commerce and Judiciary, and a special committee on Veteran Affairs.I could not be more pleased with the committees and our committees’ ability to impact the lives of District 5 and all Kansans.

In a recent article, Speaker of the Kansas House Dan Hawkins indicated that he would not allow the Kansas House of Representatives to consider SCR1603, which would place a cap on spiking Kansas property valuation.
